1. Transferring a domain to NameCrane
1. Unlock the domain at your current registrar and get the authorization code (auth/EPP code).
2. Start the transfer with us and enter the code.
3. Approve the confirmation email. Most gTLD transfers add up to a year to your registration.
2. Transferring a domain away
Unlock the domain in your account and request the auth code. We provide it promptly (within the ICANN-required timeframe) and won't unreasonably deny, withhold, or delay a valid transfer. We only refuse for reasons ICANN allows (e.g. fraud, a UDRP or court lock, non-payment).
3. The 60-day locks
A domain generally can't transfer to another registrar for 60 days after: initial registration; a previous inter-registrar transfer; or a Change of Registrant (unless you opt out).
4. Change of Registrant and Designated Agent
Changing the registrant name, organization, or email is a Change of Registrant. You appoint NameCrane as your Designated Agent so you won't confirm a separate email each time, and you may opt out of the 60-day lock at the time of the change.
5. Auth codes and security
We keep auth codes confidential and release them only to the authorized account holder.
6. Disputes
Inter-registrar transfer disputes are handled under ICANN's Transfer Dispute Resolution Policy (TDRP).
