Update Contacts

On this page
http
PUT /domains/{domain}/contacts

Gives the domain contacts from the account’s address book, by their uuid from List Contacts. Name only the roles to change; the others keep their contacts. The registry is updated first, and the domain only changes here once it has taken the change.

Each contact must be able to hold domains (can_hold_domains: its email verified and its address complete), and each role must be one the TLD uses (Get Contacts lists them). A new registrant name, organization or email gets a confirmation email from the registry. A change to a contact’s details in the portal reaches every domain it holds, so there is nothing to send per domain.

Parameters

Field Type Required Description
contacts object Yes A contact uuid for each role to change: registrant, admin, tech or billing

Response

json
{ "message": "Contacts updated." }

A uuid that isn’t on the account is 404. A contact that can’t hold domains yet, a role the TLD doesn’t use, or a change the registry refuses is 400 with the reason.

Example

bash
curl -X PUT -H "Authorization: Bearer crane_..." \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"contacts": {"registrant": "9b2f6c1e-4d7a-4c3b-8f0e-2a6d5b7c9e14"}}' \
